Insanities with Domino's Pizza
Tweet
I was feeling hungry. I found lying a Domino's Pizza brochure promising me a 25% discount if I buy two pizzas. I had two more hungry guys around here… so I made the call. Ordered one medium Farmhouse Pizza and another regular Country Special. The dude landed here 40 minutes later. I paid him the money and asked for the discount…
The Dominos dude told me that if I wanted to discount, I should have told the guy whom I ordered the pizzas on the telephone!
Oh, Shit. I just lost 80 bucks just because the company had this stupid policy. Even worse, I wanted garlic bread and he delivered me Chinni Bread.
Chinni Bread? What the hell is this stupid bread coated with sugar? I do not need this. I need my garlic bread. No sir, the order said, Chinni Bread.
The day sucked since then.

Always read the fine print…
February 11, 2005 - 9:29 pm
fine print says:
coupon valid on your next purchase for a maximum purchase of two pizza
…
maybe that means, now that we have fooled you once, the next purchase you make would carry the discount

Look on the other side bro!!!
February 12, 2005 - 1:14 am
other side? what other side?
February 12, 2005 - 5:42 pm
Other side of the coupon says : “Please announce coupon before placing order”
February 12, 2005 - 5:44 pm
right you are.

lol. You have to tell them(pizza, restaurants, airline booking(frequent flyer), loyalty cards in shopping centres) about the coupon *before* placing the order. The chinni bread you are referring to, is cinnamon bread. The chinni like stuff on top is cinnamon.
February 12, 2005 - 9:07 pm
now you are telling me
February 14, 2005 - 10:10 pm
u shouldnt have asked for the 25% discount coz u shud have been given 100%, if they dont reach within 30 minutes then its free pizza. remember the paresh rawal advert. ? thirty minutes nahin toh free.

well that 40 min stuff was just an estimation :p
let us say, it was a first time mishtake
forgive me people… i am to blame here
February 18, 2005 - 3:39 am
Whether its to blame or not….
I don’t see why you did not consider the non-delivery of garlic bread as serious enough. Simply tell him X+Y was the combination you wanted, now if this person messed up with X+Z you are not ready to suffer.
Also, it was the duty of the person who took your order, to ask if you want to use any coupons. Atleast that’s how it is here in B’lore. No, don’t start asking about broadband woes though.

the second part is quite logical. considering i told him that i wanted the combo mentioned in the brochure i found in the letter box of my house. :p
